Ogden, Utah Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music (OFOAM) prepares for the 2019 Ogden Music Festival to kick off the summer festival season at Weber County's beautiful Fort Buenaventura, May 31 - June 2. OFOAM has never let the crowd down with their Ogden Music Festival lineup, this year is no exception. The 2019 headliners include the legendary Mavis Staples and the progressive bluegrassers The Infamous Stringdusters.

With the start of her career in 1950 with The Staples Singers, Mavis Staples is best known for her energetic and charismatic approach to singing and recording and her participation as a civil rights activist. She has won multiple awards including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Staples would go on to record two albums produced by Prince and to work with Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, Jeff Tweedy and George Jones. In 2017, she was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame and in 2018 received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Arts Awards.

The Infamous Stringdusters have pushed the envelope within the confines of the bluegrass genre which has garnered the band IBMA awards and nominations and international success. 2018 represented a high watermark for the quintet as they took home a Grammy Award in the category of “Best Bluegrass Album” for their 2017 release "Laws of Gravity." Since 2007, the band’s ever-evolving artistry and boldly creative collaborations — including Ryan Adams, Joss Stone, Bruce Hornsby, Joan Osborne, and Lee Ann Womack — have pushed them past the edges of traditional acoustic music and carved out a musical niche all their own in the hearts of fans and critics, alike.

Attendees of the Ogden Music Festival 2019 are fortunate to experience Mavis Staples and The Infamous Stringdusters legendary and award-winning performances. OFOAM has a track of having an impressive lineup for their Ogden Music Festival. This year brings more excitement than the last.

The full lineup includes: Mavis Staples, The Infamous Stringdusters, Della Mae, The Band of Heathens, Chris Johns & The Night Drivers, Shook Twins, Cane Mill Road, Wood Belly, Jubilee, Pixie & The Partygrass Boys, Mama Longlegs and Mariachi Zavala.

About Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music (OFOAM): OFOAM’s mission is to provide and promote community with live traditional and contemporary Americana music experiences. Through these performances we aim to attract visitors from outside the region and help develop Weber County and Ogden as a destination for first class arts events and recreation. We strive to raise awareness of the many benefits of exposure to music and traditional instrument playing by providing music education opportunities with a focus on youth audiences.

OFOAM is an all-volunteer 501-c-3 non-profit organization that contributes significantly to the vibrant arts and recreation community in Ogden. Over 60 percent of our operating budget is for artist fees. Far from being observers, attendees become active participants in the OFOAM Festival Community through kids activities, vending, sponsorship, volunteerism, and campground jams. Beyond the music, people also fall in love with Weber County's stunning natural beauty and recreational opportunities. OFOAM festivals become annual traditions for families and friends.
