Hill’s 388th and 419th Fighter Wings are planning a combat power exercise Nov. 19 when they will launch dozens of F-35A Lightning IIs within a condensed period of time.

We're providing this notice as a courtesy in an effort to be good neighbors and prevent any undue alarm. Local communities will see increased flying operations between noon and 3 p.m. the day of the exercise.

We usually fly between 30-60 sorties per day from Hill AFB. During the exercise, we will launch roughly the same number of sorties, but the aircraft will take off in 20 to 40-second intervals.

The exercise will promote readiness and esprit de corps, as well as demonstrate and evaluate our Airmen’s ability to employ maximum combat capability on short notice.

In the case of inclement weather on Nov. 19, the exercise may be moved to Nov. 20 or cancelled. We will alert the local media within 72 hours of the exercise and ask that you refrain from doing so until we send out our initial press release. We will also courtesy copy you on that release so you can help us get the word out in your communities.

The communities and businesses surrounding Hill Air Force Base steadfastly support the critical national defense missions here and we could not succeed without you. Thank you.
