When I was in high school I dreamed of owning a beautiful, convertible sports car. Sadly, it never happened.  I was too poor to buy even a used one, let alone a new roadster. Thankfully, things have changed, and I can now afford one.

For the last several years, I have been both dreaming about and looking to buy a classic sports car from the 1960s. From my research, I found some originals owned by collectors that were worth millions of dollars. I also investigated the market for both new and used classic sports cars in every price range and condition with parts made in the US and abroad.

In the end, I asked an American manufacturer to build me a new fiber glass body based upon a classic Roadster design. I also bought a powerful new Ford engine and all the other required components. Since I can’t build the car myself, I asked a local master automotive mechanic to assemble the vehicle for me.  I now drive the car of my dreams.

One day it dawned on me that other people might also want to own a modern version of a classic sports car.  After my successes with MarketStar, venture fund Mercato Partners, scores of angel investments, hundreds of lectures and articles on starting and growing a business, I decided to explore the idea of starting a new business to build and sell modern versions of these vintage sports cars. After six months of thorough marketing research, I started Ornata Motors in early 2018.  By the way, Ornata is a Latin word for ornate, distinguished or elaborate.

Our goal as a company is to build for our clients custom, hand-made vehicles matching their exact specifications, including their favorite color with the engine of their choice.  Due to federal laws pertaining to these automobiles, we can only build and sell 325 units a year.  Thus, just a few happy customers will be the fortunate owners of these amazing hot rods.

In order to develop a world class organization, I have retained a team of automobile experts who can design, manufacture, assemble, market and sell our product line. Each executive has years of experience and a passion to provide a product that can’t be matched.  We have chosen to operate the business in Ogden, Utah.

To honor our US Air Force pilots and their planes, both past and present, our first product line is called the Aviator series; which includes the Spitfire, Thunderbolt and Lightning.  Each model comes with different features and performance options to delight each owner.

My hope is that this new venture will be successful and that both our employees and customers will be thrilled with the ride of their lives.

On a personal note, I intend to donate my earnings to the Hall Foundation which contributes funds to charities that help the needy.
