TEDxOgden committee members are excited to announce the second annual event will take place on June 29 at the Peery’s Egyptian Theater in downtown Ogden. Centered around the theme “ILLUMINATION”, they are currently seeking dynamic speakers, performers, volunteers and sponsors for the event.

“TEDxOgden promises to be an unforgettable experience, one that will take the audience on a journey with our speakers to explore ideas they never imagined possible,” said TedxOgden Project Manager Amir Jackson. “If you or anyone you know has an idea that could garner lasting change in our community please encourage them to apply. We want to cumulate the many talents that makes Ogden so unique.”

TEDxOgden spreads ideas and perspectives to spark conversation and connections in the community. The event uses TED’s celebrated format of short, thoughtfully prepared talks, demonstrations and performances that foster learning, inspiration, and wonder while also prompting conversations that matter.

“This event brings the spirit of TED to Ogden,” said TEDx Ogden Co- Organizer Michael Lindenmayer, “We are searching for thoughtful, informed, passionate speakers who have an idea worth spreading that can ultimately change you, the community, and the world.”

The planning committee is looking for speakers and performers who can tie in TEDxOgden’s chosen theme, “ILLUMINATION” in areas of technology, education and design in 12 minutes or less. Potential speakers and performers should submit their idea with a short bio to TEDxOgdenPresenters@gmail.com by April 6. The TEDxOgden planning committee will review all applications and will invite selected candidates to audition by April 20. Participants will be notified within a few weeks of auditions if they have been selected to be a TEDxOgden 2018 speaker or performer.

The TEDx Ogden committee is being led by Amir Jackson with Nurture the creative mind and is comprised of representatives who work, live and play in Weber County. Co-organizers include Commissioner James Ebert and Marty Smith with Weber County, Kseniya Lindenmayer with Linden + Linden, Kassi Bybee and Gary Griffeth with the Ogden Eccles Conference Center, Lorie Buckley with Ogden City, Clairesse Milijour with GOAL Foundation and Sydnie Furton with Visit Ogden.
