Echard brought the brand’s innovative approach to local small business marketing to Salt Lake City in September. Welcomemat has seen major growth throughout 2017 and celebrated a 20 percent year-to-date growth over the same period last year with nine new franchise partners added to the system, putting the brand past the 60-unit mark.

Echard attended the University of Arizona and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Plant Sciences and led a 23-year career in the golf course industry where he held the title of Golf Course Superintendent. After moving to Utah to start a new life with his college-sweetheart, he began working as a property manager for University of Utah and the Capitol. He found the line of work was unsustainable with his lifestyle and decided to look into the franchise space through a consultant. Soon after, he discovered Welcomemat Services and was inspired by both the concept and the franchisees in its system. Echard purchased the rights to the Welcomemat franchise in the area of Salt Lake City.

Using his previous management experience, and contagiously positive personality, Mick building on the existing growth and momentum in the Salt Lake City area with his new opening. His eagerness to get to know his new neighborhood and desire to familiarize himself with the local businesses in his new place of residence will ultimately help Echard grow the concept through local relationships.
